Psychology Today Icon

Sharon Normand empowers individuals to change perceptions that contribute to unhealthy patterns and supports them in facilitating meaningful, positive change. She approaches therapy from a wellness-based model—viewing clients as capable individuals seeking support to manage challenges—rather than a medical model that frames clients as broken or in need of fixing. Guided by Alfred Adler’s insight, “The hardest thing for human beings to do is to know themselves and to change themselves,” Sharon is passionate about helping clients gain self-awareness that leads to lasting shifts in perspective and improved quality of life. She offers evening availability to accommodate clients’ schedules.

Sharon specializes in working with individuals and families affected by substance use and behavioral addictions, trauma-related symptoms, and periods of crisis. She enjoys working with adult clients from a wide range of populations, including those involved with the criminal justice system, employee assistance programs, and licensing boards.

A person in recovery since 2001, Sharon brings both professional expertise and personal understanding to her work. Having experienced the benefits of ethical, compassionate counseling firsthand, she is deeply committed to offering the same to others. Her clients come from diverse backgrounds, including varied races, religions, sexual orientations, and socioeconomic statuses. Sharon strives to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental, and compassionate environment for individuals seeking meaningful change in their lives.
